topic VMB3000 cameras quit working. in Arlo Pro

I bought this product April 15 2019. Over this last winter my cameras quit working. I was out of town for an extended period so I was not able to investigate the problem until March. I contacted Arlo support and was told I would need new firmware and that this model is no longer supported. The cost would be $150 for the firmware. This is outrageous for a product I only had for less than 3 years.

First, did you contact via a phone number and talk to someone?

If you did it was probably a fake Arlo site as Arlo does not do phone calls.

second, the 3000 should be able to update the FW if needed and it’s free.

third, the cameras should still work on the base unit either way.

Read

@Herberje wrote:
I contacted Arlo support ... The cost would be $150 for the firmware.

No, you didn't contact Arlo support. You reached a scam support center - likely because you googled for a support phone number.

https://kb.arlo.com/000062119/How-can-I-avoid-Arlo-support-scams

The only way to reach Arlo support is to use the support option in the app. Unfortunately you need a subscription to get phone support.

@Herberje wrote:
I bought this product April 15 2019. Over this last winter my cameras quit working.

Can you give us more details (and also what you've already tried to do to fix the problem).

Include the base LED status.
