Enable sound when the app is closed

I use my camera to monitor our baby and often I want to close the app on my iphone but keep the sound on.

Then I can know if he cries but not drain the camera battery, and I can do other things on my phone.

Apparently that's not possible right now but it would be great to see it in the next software update.
