You get the plug icon instead of a battery one when the battery isn't installed. Sounds like the contacts may be dirty/corroded or the battery or camera has a problem. What happens if you swap batteries around and try plugging in each? Is it possible the battery is totally dead? There's an FAQ here on getting a totally dead battery rejuvenated.

I've had the system for 10 months with no issues. Am trying to recharge the battery (in place in the camera) but get this "plug" icon for the very first time. Hovering over it shows 0%. I've not changed any cables or outlets. I welcome your thoughts. Thanks.

Thank you for the detailed reply. The camera is under the cover of a portico, so it's never directly exposed to rain. However, I will check the battery tomorrow for corrosion in the contacts.

I tried the instructions outlined in https://kb.arlo.com/000052305/My-Arlo-Pro-or-Arlo-Pro-2-battery-is-dead-what-do-I-do but no success. Am using all-Arlo charger, cables, etc. My other 2 Arlo Pro cameras charge just fine with this charger/cable. Multimeter shows 0.21v feeding within the camera into the battery. I could swap out this "bad" battery into another camera, but most likely it's a bad battery. Would my letting the charge drop below 15% have caused the battery to go bad to the point it can not be recharged?

Allowing the battery to drop below 15% but not to 0 shouldn't be a problem. Dead batteries happen - open a case with support for a possible RMA:
