Not getting notifications on Android

I recently installed an Arlo Pro system with two cameras. I received notifications for the first week or so. Then nothing. I reinstalled the Arlo app and got a few notifications and then nothing. I have verified that notifications are turned on in the Arlo Android apps settings and in the camera set ups. Each time I switch to the Arlo app it says "signing in". I wonder if I am not getting the notifications because I am being signed out of the app.

possible... I use the remember me box and have not had to resign in since ( even tho the user line is / appears blank )

Never sign out, just hit the home button to exit.

May be OS version... I'm wotking on an older Android version 4.4.2

( basically the same on IOS, don't sign out, just swipe or home )
