Can Arlo camera base station recognize Arlo security light module WITHOUT installing Arlo security light bridge? In other words, can one add Arlo Security light just like adding a new wireless camera without going through the briidge setup?

No sorry. The Arlo cameras run on wifi and the security lights connect to the lights bridge via bluetooth

If the bridge uses BT, then it may not reach the longer WiFi range of cameras. BT range is much shorter than WiFi. and the signal gets blocked easily. Then why would Arlo advertise that the lights can be installed near the cameras!!

There are 2 different BT implementations - low energy (BLE) and regular BT. The bridge and lights use BLE to preserve battery life. Check the chart at the bottom of this page:

160 feet is plenty sufficient for most applications.
