What are the icons that are circled in RED in the enclosed photo ?

It shows you have a USB backup drive attached to your base station. When the drive is being written to, that icon will be amber/orange

No that is not 100% correct.

That icon is always visible on devices which have the option to save recordings on a local USB drive:

if the icon is grey, like in the screenshot, there is no USB drive connected to the base station or the connected USB drive has been unmounted.
If the icon is black, there is a USB drive connected and mounted to the base station.
- If the icon is ember a recording is being written to the USB drive.

Same thing applies to the "audio" icon to the left, that icon is grey in the screenshot which mean that "sound detection" have been disabled on both cameras.

Oh yup. This is correct.
Also, my icon goes grey when the drive is full despite having the option to "Automatic overwrite" enabled. Haven't checked if it's actually overwriting or not. I just formatted the drive attached and the icon went black again
