Considering purchasing the Arlo Pro camera, but I am concerned about the stated operating temperature. Official specs list 32° to 122° F as the operating temp. So, what exactly happens when the temp hits 20°, or 10° or 0° (or colder)? Does the camera just stop working? Or does it start throwing error messages? I assume the battery drains rapidly?

There is a large swath of the country that regularly gets below 32° for 2 or 3 months of the year. In my location, we might have several weeks with temps around 10 to 20° during the winter months. Seems like Arlo Pro just isn't a viable option for me?

Thanks in advance.

I've been fine in the low 20's recently. Others that drop to the negatives though receive an error that the device needs to warm up before it will start working again. If you're in the 10-20 range, you should be OK, at least from my experience.

Don't know where you got your specs, but from the PRO ( top of page ) specs...

Operating temperature

-4° to 113° F (-20° C to 45° C)

We ( a few users ) have been testing the PRO and it seems to cut out just at -4F. Plus or minus....tho I did see one user mention 7F.

But in my tests it is good well below 0F so I wouldn't worry so much
