Can't address the tarp unless it was reflecting the sun's IR to the point everything else was blotted out. Don't even know if that's possible.

I get many recordings with snow on the ground and even from blowing snow. Assuming the camera is armed (black running man for the camera in the Devices tab, not gray), have you tried turning up the sensitivity in your modes? Are all devices in Settings, My Devices using the latest firmware compared to what's posted in the Release Notes section here?

The camera is installed on our front porch. It will not pick up motion while there is snow on the ground. Also, during the summer we had a blue tarp on our driveway covering up mulch. The camera did not pick up motion until the blue tarp was removed. Except for these two situations, the camera (motion detection) works fine. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Turn the motion sensitivity up to 100. Turn it down one each time you get a false trigger within 30 minutes of the last one. You should get down to a very precise and effective level for the location and environment. This may change over the year and even at different times of the day. Scheduled modes can be helpful for times of the day
