The outdoor temperature is -16c right now. My Arlo Pro camera stopped working and said “needs need to warm up before you can use it”, even it not yet reached the lowest working temperature of this product. The battery has 38% remain. Is it normal?

Tomorrow morning it will be -24c, should I have to bring al cameras back to home?

Yes, it's a design decision. I don't know why the cameras shut down at these temps but it's normal. Warming them up is a workaround but they will stop once again when cooled off. The original wireless cameras work fine at much lower temps with both the non-rechargeable OEM batteries as well as the rechargeable ones.

i have 2 cams outside. last night was 11F (with wind chill close to 0F). they were active and this morning both cams batteries dropped more than 20% (1 cams had 5 motion recordings, about 10s each). The cams normally use maybe 2% of battery when taking 20+ recordings when the temp was above 32F.

Maybe jguerdat can confirm this, but shutting down has nothing to do with it running on batteries.

I have 2 that are hardwired and the same thing happens.

I have 2 Arlo Q's indoors unheated (another location) at the same sub zero temps and they have never stopped working.

I can't imaging that the batteries can last very long after being subjected to 7 days of these temps. That's why I hardwired them from day 1. Way to much of an inconvenience and danger to get up on my 8 ft ladder to change out a battery in that weather.

Stay warm Arlo friends.
