Battery life on Arlo Pro

I just replaced my batteries with new ones and it's already low (orage color) and not one thong recorded. Happens all the time or it goes offline. Could it be a short circuit in the camera itself?

Did you charge the brand new battery at any stage?

These were not rechargeable batteries.

Either the batteries were not good or they were not making adequate contact with the battery terminals. Most like the former as even 2 new batteries making good contact would show 50% battery level since they work in pairs in parallel. Take the batteries out of a working camera and try them in this camera
