When will Arlo release the smart detection feature? This was supposed to be either part of the elite subscription or continuous recording subscription.

Arlo Smart is available for subscription per camera. This isn't part of the elite subscription or CVR.

Arlo Smart can be added to any or all of your Arlo cameras. If you already own an Arlo system, you can add Arlo Smart in one of the following ways:

-Use the 30-day free trial of Arlo Smart on one camera.
-Purchase Arlo Smart for $3.99 per camera per month.

Arlo Smart is initially launching to a limited number of randomly selected Arlo users. A wider launch and more Arlo Smart features will be introduced in late 2017 and beyond. This is just the beginning for one of our most exciting new features.
