Arlo Pro - Installation on Ceiling Question

Hi all,

I'm looking to see if anyone has had success or can recommend installing the Arlo Pro from the Ceiling? I thought it might be a good position in front of my house door.

Would a bird's eye view be okay, or should I put it more towards the corner. I'm trying to get the best use of the motion sensors. I attached a picture.

Because these cameras use PIR sensors to detect motion, this location likely won't give you satisfactory motion detection. Motion is best detected moving side to side across the FOV, not directly at it.

So the corner, pointing at an angle would be the better spot then?

I'm hoping it'll be good enough for the microphone to talk to a delivery person or so.

It's a tough call since the entryway is so shallow and it's brick. If possible, placing it at the outer corner of the entryway (where the entryway meets the front wall) would be more optimal, especially for motion detection. It can be rotated out towards the sidewalk some so you can still see the door while trying to use the approaching subject to trigger as early as possible.
