topic arlo pro PIR location in Arlo Pro

hi, i have my arlo located behind a thin mirrored plastic piece. i keep it behind the plastic to protect it from being tampered with since i live on a busy street with lots of foot traffic. i've already read about the motion detection it not working behind glass/plastic but i'm wondering if i can drill small holes in the plastic where the IR sensors are located to hopefully be able to pick up some motion. would that be possible? if so, where would be the best place to drill the holes?

The Pro has two PIR detectors which seem to be the small square/rectangular thing you can see on the bottom half of the camera face. I don't know this for sure but that's where I would start with any holes.
