The Android app stuck between arm and disarm

I don't know if other people have this problem but the Android app often gets stuck between arm and disarm it just says getting status. The only way to fix is to force close and reopen the up and hope it works the next time. This is been happening since day one and I've never seen a fix .does anybody have any solutions

I would also like to add that sometimes when I set it to arm it just sits there telling me getting status. The only way I know to fix this is to force close and then reopen again.

I've seen the same behavior, but I don't have to force close, I just close the app and re-launch. I notice it happen when I open the app and I don't wait for everything to load (video, all the icons for motion, audio, usb, etc). If I don't wait for everything to load and immediately choose mode I get the getting status message that's just hangs. Seems like it might be a bug. BTW- I'm using the app on a brand new Samsung S8 running the latest official version of android.
