Arlo Pro & App Features

The Arlo app itself (for Android) is severely lacking in features to best manage and tweak settings for either the Arlo or Arlo Pro devices

Not so good:

- Not being able to change/set sensitivity for motion detection (resets to 50%)
- Not being able to change/set the length of video taken when motion is detected.
- Not having a 'Daily summary' type video found in similar apps at lower price-points. This would be a mashup of daily motion detection videos strung together for easy viewing.
- Sending audio to an Arlo Pro is both choppy and only works 50% of the time per testing (with phone and Arlo Pro device on a high-speed wifi connection)

Decent:

- Viewing the videos in the library is getting smoother and loading time is minimal yet often choppy with one or more breaks in 10 second clip.
- Persisted login is nice, not having to re-login on each notification click Device Firmware

Notes:

- If a light is turned on with 'Night vision' setting on, sometimes takes over an hour for the device to switch to normal color mode from night vision.
- Many missed detections of motion. Tested with walking up to a door less than 20 ft away. Only detects 50% of attempts.

I can set motion sensitivity and recording duration from my Android app. You just need to update your rules and make sure you click save.

There's a separate section for suggestions for improvement. Maybe try there with your 'daily summary' though it has no appeal to me.

I'd say your missed detections would be expected if your cameras are set to 50% sensitivity

Thanks - perhaps I'm missing where the 'rules' are as I have the latest app release and not seeing where the duration and motion detection sensitivity can be changed and saved.

Once I set the sensitivity to 100% and extend the recoring time to 50 seconds, I save it and it goes right back to 80% and 10 sec. As it stands now someone could break my door down and I would never be able to capture them on camera. If I go and wave at the camera for 30 seconds to a minute it might pick it up. Has to be a better way.

Are you using your own mode or the default Armed one?
