Will I still be able to view my home and also receive alerts to my cell phone with arlo app when motion is detected when I go away. I was told it would but I want to be sure.

The short answer is yes, providing you have it set up to send you alerts based on motion. See kb here. I have two cameras set up to send alerts based on motion and sound and one camera (that watches my dog's crate) only on sound since I don't want an alert everytime he moves. I can view any of the cameras with my phone while away.

yes.. even works on the cruise ships (NCL)
