topic Alberta install in Arlo Pro

Hi, I just bought 15 of theses cameras. I have finished the install on the 7 cameras in my house (which I intend to keep running off battery) and am very happy with them so far. I have ordered 8 of the weather proof power supplies for my outdoor cameras. I am placing the 8 outdoor cameras under my eves around my house, and have an electrical outlet at each location. My question is with these outdoor cameras being powered and not even having a battery installed, how will they hold up in the cold winters up here in central Alberta? Thanks in advance

Not 100% sure with battery removed as at time of tesing my PRO, that adapter wasn't available...

Can say tho the camera will possibly shut down at some where about -4F.

Tests I did had them shut down about 4 hours after placing in freezer...this safety factor I believe was built in for battery safety ( and don't believe it makes a diff if the battery is installed or not )

Thanks for the information. Do you think having the camera outside in low temps will hurt it? Or will it simply shut down and turn back on when it is in safe operating temperatures?

Shouldn't hurt the camera, especially if it auto-shutsdown. Looks like you're the guinea pig in this case. 😀

Haha maybe I will take down 7 of the 8 cameras when it gets cold just for testing so I don't wreck 2 grand worth of gear lol. I'll post again with what I find for everyone. Thanks for your insight.

My cameras (with battery) made it through a New England winter. Plenty of sub freezing days. Camera's would go offline if it got too cold, usually early in the morning, then would come back to life when the sun came up and they warmed up. I assumed they were going offline because the battery was getting too cold. If you are pluuging yours in they may stay on.
