Can the battery stay in the camera if you have the camera plugged into an electrical outlet?

I can't seem do download firmware updates to these cameras wirelessly. Seems easy enough by pressing
the download key. Fails every time .... AND leaves an alert up in settings. Any help here would be
appreciated.

Updates normally occur overnight. Might be best to just wait and see if it happens. Sometimes restarting the base and/or opening and closing battery doors triggers the updates.

Some folks recently have had issue updating due to Internet access speeds. Have you tested yours at speedtest.net?

Yes. That way it will remain act even during a power outage. Of course, the base, router and modem need to be plugged into a UPS so the connection to the server is maintained.
