Best positioning for cat detection

Set up first camera yesterday. Motion detection on people seems to work. What we really wanted, though, was motion detection on the cats and other animals that visit the feeding bowl on our porch. The camera, set at 100% sensitivity, seems completely unable to detect them.

There's no way to zoom the camera, so we're thinking of dropping it down to about three feet above the ground? Any other suggestions? Are you surprised that the camera isn't detecting the cats?

It needs to be closer to the cats...they are a low amount of IR

For the camera to work off of....

In my cat tests, I used a small tripod about 1-2 ft off ground and raised the sense the sense level about to 92... Worked quite well
