I need some information prior to purchasing Arlo Pro security cameras.

I am interested in purchasing 4 Arlo Pro security cameras, 3 for the outside of our home/office and 1 for the inside. The Arlo Pro is perfect because it is waterproof. My understanding is that these cameras are synced with a desktop hub and descriptions indicate the hub should be connected to a router for wi-fi.

Ours is an Apple household with 2 iMacs, a Mac Pro, and 2 Macbook laptops. Because of our rural location these computers are connected to the Internet with a Verizon Wireless Jetpack 4G LTE mobile hotspot. So, there is no router.

Can the Arlo Pro hub be directly connected to an Apple computer with an Ethernet or USB cable, enabling wi-fi and livestreaming on the computer? If not, I will have to look for an alternative to the Arlo Pro cameras.

The Pro Base unit needs an ethernet connection to the internet access.... many in the past have use extenders or hotspots with etherent ports for this.

(will not function to to computer that has wifi and ethernet port)

( the base unit sets up it own wifi on 2.4ghz to connect to the cameras only )
