    <description>If the USB drive is configured to be used, all recordings go to both the cloud and drive. If Internet connection is lost, recordings are still made to the drive but will not be uploaded to the cloud when the connection is restored. You'll have to unmount the drive and use a computer to see heat happened during the outage.</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello I have the net gear pro. Can I hook up and external hard drive to the home base and record my video on it ? If so how do I do this ?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The recording device on the PRO Base must be a USB type drive or spped stick... USB ports arein the back&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Max size is 2TB and it must be formatted to fat32&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Any USB plug/play in drive should work,... I just happen to use a 32gb speed stick. Others have used usb external drives&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;As to play back, the file are mp4.&amp;nbsp; They are playable on most windows included players or others ... I use the VLC free player just because I like it and it works well.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;They have versions for most OSs&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;It's not seen as a NAS so unmount it in the interface and put it on a computer to view the recordings.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
