Does the Pro camera get a good signal if moved closer to the base station?

The grainy image is very likely due to the connection as you suspect. This may take more in-depth troubleshooting to further isolate, I encourage you to contact the Arlo Support Team to further investigate this issue. You will find several options for contacting support in the provided link.

I went ahead and bought an add on Arlo Pro. I went ahead and took off the older Arlo Camera, and put the Pro at the exact same spot, but now wifi signal is at 2 bars instead of 3. I'm using the existing Base station, it hasn't moved or been touched.

When I take the Arlo camera to my front door, I get 2 bars, when I take the Pro to the same spot, I get 0-1 bars.

Is it a bad camera, or does the Arlo Pro have an expected worse signal strength. I'm using the existing base, so hopefully that doesn't cause an issue. If I need to buy a new base station, that's fine, I just want to make sure I get the best signal all around.

The Pro def detects motion quicker and I love the Mic, but the videos are a bit grainy, worse than the Arlo, so I'm guessing it's due to the worse signal level.

It gets 3 bars mext to the base but 2 bars 10 feet away. The original Arlo has 3 bars in all the same spots as the new Pro. I'm also seeing pixelated picture with the new Pro where the Arlo worked fine. Its either a bad camera, or the Pro is made with a less capable Antenna than that of the Arlo. If thats the case, now I will need to get another base just to run this pro. I'm sending back the camera for another and if that doesn't fix it then I will have to return it for something else. Hopefully a new camera does the trick.
