Arlo Pro 2 – let Google Home turn on or off the camera

Is it possible to let my Google Home Mini turn on or off my Arlo Pro 2 camera? The integration is all set up and works fine, but I would like the Google Home Assistant to manange the camera for me.

For example I would like to say "OK Google, goodbye" and then the camera is turned on. And when I get back "OK Google, I'm home" and the camera goes off. Is this possible?

Hi @lofgren,

You can currently use Google Assistant to view your cameras but not turn on/off your camera. I would suggest posting on our Idea Exchange Board as our development team routinely reviews posts in the Arlo Idea Exchange to assess which features the community would like to see implemented.

Hi. I would also like to see google home mini turn on/off Arlo Pro 2 cameras.
Is this something they will consider in the near future..?

Hmm...I do this all the time with my Google Assistants.

I just say "Hey Google, Disarm Arlo", or "Hey Google, Arm Arlo".

Recently however, I noticed that the following also works "Hey Google, Turn off Arlo"

The disarm/off commands sets it to the Arlo "Disarmed" mode

The arm commands set it to the default "Armed" profile.

Somethings that might come into play for making this work

a) A couple years ago I setup IFTTT with the Arlo plugin:

b) just a couple weeks ago I setup the Google Home app on mobile device: To have the Cameras setup (although mine show "not responding" if actually launched from Google Home)
