Hi, my father won’t be able to press buttons or voice activate. Nor can any people in his care home take the time to do it for him. Is there a device that I can get that will just switch on when I want to talk to him and see him?

I recommend an Alexa based device such as the Echo Show in "drop-in" mode. Made for doing exactly what you want.
