I am always at war with Arlo, as I am sure you can tell. But I will say, I am shocked on how few issues there are in here for the Security System. Once you get your routines down, and deal with a few false alarms at 3am for a few days, and Fire detection must be turned off because it sucks. Oh and the all in one sensor 2477 batteries need to go...but all in all, it's such a grrat product. @StephenB is my new pal and he is helping me become more positive, so I figured I'd put this out there.

Totally agree on that. They do seem to be getting cheaper than they used to be. But generally only available on-line or in a specialty battery store.

There aren't many posts here on the security system - no idea if that is because people don't run into problems with it, or whether the sales aren't that high.

They sensors should be usb-c and rechargeable. That would be so sweet. I'm so sick of replacing them. No joke, on my 5th set for most of them.

But the security system is the only Arlo product I don't have to reboot or mess with or fight with my router about or misses things and/or freaks out of freaks me out.

Would be nice. The water leak use case could be an issue for usb-c in a pretty small sensor. No idea how common that usage is - and not a way I use my own sensors.

There are a couple of rechargable 2477s out there - never tried one though.

But if you have a water leak that bad, I'm pretty sure the last thing on your mind would be the loss of a $29.99 sensor.

And I read and saw there were 2477 rechargeables, but when I went to purchase them one day, it was not available or was like not actually real on Amazon or something so I gave up.

I suppose we compromise on a cover for the USB-C. But good point about the water leak.

I would like to see a rechargeable sensor, and a cover could be enough.

I don't think the sensor is likely to handle full immersion anyway - there is a warning in the install guide saying not to put the sensor in a place where water will reach the top. Which limits the utility of the use case.

Haha, it can barely handle putting the new batteries in. Water just took out Jamaica. You may be right.
