topic Inconsistent motion detecting especially in rain. Many times it doesn't detect motion. in Arlo Go

Motion detection is inconsistent. During rainy morning, car was broken into along with neighbors who’s car is also visible in camera and no video was recorded or motion detected. Many times during day with no rain camera doesn’t always detect motion either. Sensitivity setting is at its highest. Are other Arlo camera models this bad? Thinking of switching models, not happy with this one. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

PIR sensors are the issue. People can only be well-detected out to ~20-25 feet. I can certainly see rain blocking the IR from the subject and there's nothing that can be done about it. Use of pixel changes to detect, such as with the Q camera, requires constant power which a battery-operated camera can't pull off. If your needs aren't be satisfied, check the camera positioning with an eye to the above and read the FAQ here on best camera positioning. You can't always get a better position so some creative solutions may be needed.

Or buy a wired solution.
