Camera Bracket No Longer Tightening

We have 8 Arlo Go cameras. We have mounted the pan/tilt bracket for each onto a small piece of plywood so we can move them around and easily reposition the camera when needed. The brackets for two of the cameras are now unable to be tightened to the point where it will hold the camera rigidly. No matter how hard you twist the knob, it's not tight enough.

Sound like it's worn or out of alignment somehow. Is this a known issue with these mounting brackets?

The brackets are cheap and don't hold up to any spec.

I chopped up a spare latex glove and placed small squares of the material between the parts. Imagine wrapping the spherical part in rubber and then connecting/tightening the parts.

Another solution would be to bring your own bracket. The screw size is standard.
