motion sensor works sometimes

As many have mentioned,my motion sensor worked really well the first day. Today I've noticed it's not alerting me or recording. Not very fond of the idea that it works just sometimes. I've tried all the suggestions I've read on here. One thing I have noticed is even though I have the motion sensor on option set to on the "running man"isn't green.
Also,what is the range of the motion sensor?

The running man when acitive is NOW in BLACK...green was the older color

When not active he is gray.

Motion sensor works best for people out to a max of 20ft

well my motion also is not working have it set to driveway aimed at my car front yet only records cars passing at the end of the drive way very annoying that it detects cars passing but not anyone by my car within 10 feet useless at this point should someone steal my car I would capture them leaving lol.

If you read all the suggestions here as well as the FAQs, you'll see that motion is best detected with motion ACROSS the FOV, starting at or near an edge. Motion directly to of from the camera, just as with motion detection lights, doesn't work nearly as well. It's the nature of passive IR detectors. Place your cameras with these parameters and try again.
