My driveway is not that big. My truck takes up the full length. My camera covers the full length. No Street,. A little side walk. Truck does come at the camera,. But it's a big truck taking up most of the camera view. Only had cameras for a week. Have sensitivity up to 80. Has yet to detect the truck backing in. Surely it picks up the heat from the dual exhaust after driving on the highway for 30min

Two things:

1) motion is at the camera, the worst direction for any PIR motion detection scheme

2) motion is slow, making it less likely to be detected

Move the camera so motion is ACROSS the field of view, not at the camera.

Thanks for the reply. I'm aware front to back isn't ideal. I have it that way so I catch the neighbors kids to the right coming across its field of view if they decide to mess with my truck or come into my property. I would just think a big truck, moving,. Taking up, half its view would set it off. It catches my gfs car pull in, engine first, during the day. I'm gonna see if it catches me pulling in the same way at night. I only back in cause I use my backup camera to get as close to the house as possible. Truck is too big for the garage😞.

So, the engine is in the front? Yeah, not sure you're ever going to get a motion event triggered by that truck.

Do you have a tree in your front yard you could mount your camera to? That would allow you to trigger off those right-to-left motions by your truck, possibly triggering a motion-based video.

Wait, what are you trying to capture here? Your truck pulling into the driveway, or people approaching your truck? So, the current positioning does not catch people walking up to your truck?

Again, mounting the camera on a tree in your front-yard would create a field-of-view for side-to-side motion.

Thanks for the reply. I wanna catch the neighbors kids coming from the right if they mess with my truck. Works great for that. But would also like to get unwanted cars pulling in as well. It caught the gf optima and my truck pulling in engine first. Just not backing in. Not a huge deal,. Just thought it odd. I love the cameras. Bought 2 more for a total of 5😉
