It depends on the motion detection. As you move in and out of range, motion may not be detected. It may help to increase sensitivity but it'll be a trial and error process.

I am recordng a moderate traffic area. My concern is that sometimes there may be activity I want to record that lasts 20 seconds. Other times, it may last 120 seconds. Is there a way to record "only as long as there was activity" rather than recording on a set time frame each time the motion sensors are activated?

No... it will detect motion and record for the time specifed.

But if motion occurs again it can keep going/record again for the time

I can walk out into the yard and the cam will pick me up for ten (10) seconds and then appears to give up on me. 🙂

I'm wondering if you know the "recovery" time from the end of one event to the beginning of another?

I don't mind if a recording is in pieces.

I think I am missing some contuinuity, though.

Thank you.
