No motion detection

Motion detection appears to become disabled when viewing live mode of a camera. No alerts are received, no video gets recorded.

If your LIVE viewing, you can always just toggle record on ( round button, top of view )

The problem that I ran into with this is that if you look away or something distracts you while LIVE viewing, you miss the action. Sometimes I even view a few cameras at once. If I notice something on one camera, I watch it. Something else could be happening on a different camera. It should still record even when live viewing based upon the rules/mode that is currently set.

I don't know if this is the place to put suggestions to the Arlo/Netgear team but if not, could you please direct me to that location so that I can add this to their list.

I understand what you want... but also i would keep in mind that these cams are not meant to stream 24/7 due to battery limitations.

Thank you for your response. I understand it is not designed to watch 24/7 and I don't but sometimes I log in to see if anything has changed that didn't get captured. I figured out what the pause button is for and will start to use that when switching between cameras to prevent the loss of video.

I was wondering if a guest (friend) is viewing live, will it still record motion? What if that guest/friend has admin rights? Does that change anything?

You can control the level of rights given to a friend... ovb if they have admin rights they can change almost anything.
