Hello,

I recently purchased Arlo Wire-Free four pack bundle.

I have set up all four cameras and I am on day 4 of ownership,

Out of 4 cameras, 2 are indoor and 2 are outdoor.

The outdoor motion detection is the issue. Both the front and rear of house cameras are angled identically to cover my property and the street. The front camera is set to 100% Motion Sensitivity and rarely picks up vehicles ( I assume because the distance vehicles are is too extreme (it works when directly in front of house vs on the Avenue.)

The rear of the house is the real problem, the camera is placed equidistant from the street as the front one, maybe even further from the street, and with motion set to 1% I am getting hundreds of alerts a day from passing vehicles. I DO want to see vehicles, but I primarily want to see people are on my deck. (And ideally the vehicle they used to get there)

Any ideas how to reduce alerts for the back but keep coverage? Plus in the back, the distance is short enough that for all these alerts, I never actually see the vehicle due to the 2-3 second delay.

Disclaimer: 90% of the 10sec clips for the back have nothing in them.

https://arlo.netgear.com/hmsweb/users/library/share/link/7740BEE19824712A

https://arlo.netgear.com/hmsweb/users/library/share/link/C6BBFC96BF09E77E

These are the 24hr links. Not sure what else to use.

Thanks!

Your links are fine and show the problem. You have WAY too much scene. While it may be what you would like to see, it causes huge issues with motion detection - it will detect too much, just as you've reported. You will have to limit the view so you only get motion near an edge of the scene that you're actually interested, such as your deck. For the deck, point the camera down so the tops of the railings are more or less at the top of the view. That way, people entering the deck will be detected but not all the other traffic. It's trial and error to get what you want but you'll have to start by pointing the cameras down.

That said, you can get creative and attempt a shield to block some visibility to motion by using the user-supplied in fo here:

https://community.netgear.com/t5/Motion-Detection/Success-Mechanical-Motion-Detection-Zone-Masking/m-p/1019006#M1955

It's not for everyone but may be at least a partial solution. Good luck!
