These are two separate issues.

1) The idea that two people or, at least, two different devices using the same master login credentials will cause the first person/device to be logged out when the second connects. This is known and proper operation. The use of a guest account overcomes this since the guest uses a different set of credentials.

2) The issue of possibly someone surreptitiously connecting to your system is easily handled by changing your password. Make sure it's strong enough to not be easily guessed or hacked. Switching cameras has no effect unless your WiFi passphrase has been compromised which has the same solution.

My issue is NOT in allowing another family member to log on while I'm on;
my issue is that I would prefer nobody else be ABLE to log on, using the same email and password and boot me off.

I understand that I can set it up so that the other family member can log on with a different email and password without affecting me but it is my particular situation that I don't WANT anyone else on my cameras when I'm on.

I feel that the person who is logged on (me) and is using the system should have priority until he/she is finished. Why allow a user to be booted off when he/she may be right in the middle of something? Seems totally backward to me.

Again, I say, I feel that the person who is logged on (me) and is using the system should have priority, given the assumption that all family members would log on with the same email and password.

This is the purpose of the Grant Access feature. This allows other users to log on without disturbing the primary user. If you do not want others to log in using your email/password, we recommend not sharing that information.

I don't think you're understanding what he is trying to say it's sounds like the exact same thing to what's going on with me I believe its a hacker that has made their own app or programs or something like that witch gives them the abilities to view and possibly control are cameras I really am hoping it's not the case but it is looking like that's what is going on with my 2 arlo q plus witch i switched to from the wireless cammers with the base station thinking they were doing this wirelessly so I updated witch has made me come to this conclusion I strongly hope im wrong but it's not looking good
