Yes, ther is a Android app for Arlo ( version 1.8.0-8259 , I belive is current now ). Check in you Android store.

Also , recently found the app for Arlo for the Kindle Fire in the kindle store. ( android based for the kindle )

<p>I can download the app but can not update it. I get a message that says "no compatible device found". I can use the app without updating but think the updates are made for a reason and I'd like to get them.</p>

I think you are seeing the update in the google store ( which won't load on the kindle cause it doesn't see it as a compatable device; while it is android, kindle has a shell over the android os ) while an updated version may not be in the Kindle store.
