Live view at all times through the App?

I though I would have a live view at all times through the App, but it seems that as soon as you open up the app, it would show the last frozen recording of the last movement. I would like to be able to see the camera live as soon as I open it up. Not having to click on the play button to be able to view the live feed. Play is used to view something that has been recorded, not to view live. They should change this.

Am i missing something?

I agree, I've just purchased 4 of these camera, and am generally delighted with them. It is a bit of a pain not having a live feed though when you open the app, maybe it's to do with them being battery powered?

It was prob as mentioned due to preserving batteries in case the cam was left on... Auto shut down when you exit. Just like if you change to library or settings.

BTW, max live view/record is 30 mins before cam shuts down for the same reason.

I don't work for Netgear or anyone else. I'm retired. 🙂

One downside to being live when accessing the cams is when we are on a broadband contract with a data cap.

The other that I can think of is camera battery life if we're all the time checking in.

I could certainly see it as being an OPTION, though.
