It would be great to have a feature so the user can manually modify the contrast and brightness of the camera.

Brightness can be adjusted by clicking the live stream button and then the "sun" icon and changing the slider to the desired level of brightness.

I have tested with the settings that you describe as, "Sun" icon in the Live Video. Testing them at different levels, I see no difference. Can you tell me if it is a brightness control on the camera or a control for the monitor?

It takes a few seconds for the changes to commit after you move the slider. This is a brightness control for the camera.
