We just instaled the Arlo Netgear security camera's....Can you turn off the monitoring on the interior cameras when at home? I know you can turn off the motion detecting, but can you stop the interior monitoring itself?

I know you can turn off the motion detecting, but can you stop the interior monitoring itself?

You need to create a mode for each combination of cameras that you want to be active at any given time.

So, for example, say you have four cameras, A, B, C and D. Cameras A and B are inside, C and D oustide.

You create one mode with rules for all cameras and activate that mode when you're out of the house. (Or you use the existing default mode Armed if you're happy with it).

Then you create another mode with rules for only cameras C and D (your outside cameras) and turn that mode on when you're at home. The fact that cameras A and B have no rules in this mode means that they won't react to motion.

The next step would be to place these modes on your schedule according to when you're home and when not. Activating the schedule in lieu of a mode will do the mode switching for you automatically. Any time you're deviating from the schedule you must manually override it by activating the desired mode.

Thanks for your reply! Sounds complicated enough that I will prob need to wait to try it till I have the day off, at least the first time! But this will enable me to actually have interior cameras OFF, no live feed or anything?

They go into a sleep mode thereby using very little battery power. Remember these are not 24/7 record cameras but only record while manually turned on to do so or in the Motion detect mode (and detect motion ).

The above is for the Arlo cams...the Q cams are a bit different in that they can be recording 24/7 as they are ac powered, esp with the CVR option to record a timeline (24/7 record)

The only way to really 100% turn off both cams is remove batteries or unplug the Q.

As a ps , if some one has privileges to access the system, they can start the cameras up from the sleep mode.

Where I have a cam in a private area I just put it in a dresser draw at night or turn it to the wall ( no audio on the Arlo cam)
