I would like to ask a direct question to the Netgear people on here....

Will the older Arlo base station receive an update to enable USB storage?

I would like a simple yes or no answer.

I purchased the system approx 18 months ago and it was suggested then that the USB port on the base station would be used for future developments, I am a bit frustrated that this information does not seem to be very forthcoming.

I understand that the new pro camera's will work on the older base station, but without the additional features of USB storage it is of limited use.

I would also like to know UK release dates and plans for offers for existing users if these features will not be made available to the older hardware.

NO. Only the PRO base

I am currently running a PRO cam on the older Arlo Base and there is no functional problems, It does allow audio/mic use.

BTW, Netegear will sell the new Pro base by itself so if you do want/need the local recording the rest of you old system is still as usable as it was before but the addition of recording local.

Good to know one way or the other what the plans are going forward.

I don't have any issues with the current cameras, I have 4 and apart from the delay times issue which to be honest is not a big issue unless the target is moving quickly!!

Buying the base station on its own would be good, though would also consider a pro base station and a single camera package as that would mean i can add the additional camera to my original 4 and get all the additional benefits.

Any idea when they will be available in the UK?
