Motion detection

I have a car i park on the street and would like to have motion detection set so if someone tries to break in I can get it on video. Currently i have it set at 100% and it is getting cars in the background but not people next to the car. Is there a way I can select the area of the screen I want motion detection or don't want motion detection?

It's likely the distance from the camera to the people. A moving car is a much larger target with more IR being put out so is easier to detect. Without knowing exactly how your scenario is laid out I'd guess your only option would be to move the camera closer.

No, the Arlo cams do not have pixel sense but use a PIR( entire fov ) so you can not pick out an area of motion.

Also, there are two types of cameras; Activity cams and ID cams.

Activity cams generally cover a larger area and you'll know what happened and when BUT not get a usable ID of a person ( this sounds like your setup now )

ID cams cover a very small area ( like a doorway ) where you think the person will go, if they do you'll prob get a fairly good ID picture. Down side is that because they cover a small area, if the subject does not go there, you have nothing.

Best is to set up a combo of both. Problem here is the Arlo is not really a 24/7 record camera so its better in the ID mode use ( the new Q cam looks like a very good activity cam as its powered and always on )

At this time, you choice is if possible, as mentioned, is to try and place the cam closer.
