I have not had a problem with detection as far as vehicles and humans. But, just a few minutes ago a cat was on our door step and it was not detcted. Why not? Would appreciate the input.

Depends on the direction of motion (across the field of view vs straight on) as well as the speed of motion. Could be either or both. I have numerous captures of a cat walking across the bottom of the view.

I seem to capture cats going away from the camera, but not when they are heading into the camera. We are trying to catch the guilty dog that leaves his/her droppings behind. Arlo picks up the spider web, birds but not the dog! Arlo picks up autos trucks up, and humans. But how to catch the guilty dog?

Post a screenshot indicating where the "action" occurs. Might be the angle that the dog enters the scene but the screenshot would help.
