Essential Outdoor 2K camera not charging via solar

My VMC3050 Essential Outdoor camera worked great. It's been connected to its solar panel, and although the panel doesn't receive enough sun every day to keep it charged, it takes a few months to fully drain the battery. When it gets down below 5% I turn the camera off for a few days to let it recharge to 100%. I've had the camera for a year or so.

But this latest time, after turning the camera off it isn't charging anymore. Now the battery is at 0% and it's been off for weeks with many bright, sunny days. It doesn't even reach 1%,

Because it's difficult to access, and I definitely would hate to remove it from its mount to troubleshoot, unless necessary, I'd like a few suggestions before dragging out the ladder and climbing all the way up to check it.

Anyone else encountered this?

Does the app show the lightning bolt through the battery? Perhaps an animal somehow disconnected the panel.
