Video controls are intrusive

Maybe an oversight, but why does my video darken when I pause play back? And why is there a giant play button in the middle of my screen?

I recently had a couple of guys break into my truck late at night. I tried to playback the video, so I hit pause and the screen when darker. It's already 2 AM and dark outside as it is, and the paused playback made it even harder to see them! When I went to try anyways and zoom in, the play button became more and more in the way of seeing the culprits. Needless to say, I wasn't able to see their faces because of this terrible feature and now I'm out practically the cost of two of these cameras.

Can you PLEASE change this to where the playback buttons are on the bottom like normal videos? And do NOT darken the screen!! It's absolutely terrible when trying to watch the playback when it was recorded at night.

If this was a recording, you can of course download the video.

I was able to replicate similar symptoms. I am inquiring with the team regarding the play button and dim screen. I will report back as soon as I have more info to share.

Note: it looks like you can view this on an iOS device or web portal and the screen will not dim, if you're trying to get a clearer picture.

The Arlo development team is currently investigating reports of this behavior. We will provide an update as soon as we have more information to share with the community.

I access all footage and playback through the app via Android.
