Cant connect essential Camera to arlo smart hub

how do i connect essential to smart hub it only seems to let me connect to wifi I want to local record to smart hub usb but when I try to change event setting to record video it say I need to upgrade to cloud plan?

Can you provide the precise camera model? Go into the support area of the app, select the camera and scroll down to the product id field. Let us know what that shows.

The Gen 2 essential doesn't support hubs yet.

OK so the information at point of sale is crap then they didn't tell me that when the sold me 2 x gen 2 cams & a smart hub even the brochure is misleading, so will the be compatible in the future ?

The statement from Arlo is that, yes, it will be available via a firmware update in the future but there's no release date available.
