Essential 2nd Generation devices are now compatible with Base Stations and SmartHubs

What are the advantages connecting the Essential 2nd Generation devices to the Base Stations/SmartHubs.

My Essential 2nd Generation is currently connected to the WiFi. However, when I tried connecting to the Base Station, it failed. Do I need to reconnect the Essential 2nd Generation from scratch?

At the moment the only benefit is local storage.

Yes - removing the camera from the account, and adding it back. You also need the firmware updates. See post 15 here:

Thanks. I found there is delay when loading from the hub once the Essential 2nd Generation is connected it.

The loading from the WiFi is instantly.
