Video doorbell AVD2001Aer1.2, iOS 17

my video doorbell is not always detecting motion within my activity zone. Today I reversed my car out of the garage into the centre of the zone. I got out of the car and went into the garage. Later I returned to the car and reversed off the drive. None of these actions were detected. It was only when I returned home and parked the car, that I was detected. I’ve also noticed that intermittently postmen delivering mail have not been detected.

FWIW, you have a first-gen doorbell, and posted in the Essential Outdoor 2nd Gen section of the forum.

How far away is the car from the doorbell?

Same question for the postmen...

Arlo says the max detection range for the IR sensor is 5m

In my experience, vehicles can be detected from further away, but reliably.
