Unfortunately, the Essential Indoor camera doesn't have all the features of the Arlo Baby. I don't think you'll be able to get it to do what you want.

Hi, I purchased an Arlo essential indoor camera to use as a baby monitor after reading a post in which an Arlo team member advised Arlo Baby was discontinued and recommended the essential as a replacement. But I can't seem to get it to behave like a baby monitor? I need to be able to continuously listen to the sound on the app but it cuts out when you change apps or lock the screen. How can I enable an "always listening" function?
If it matters- I am on android.

Thanks for the reply. How frustrating that it was recommended as a baby monitor, it doesn't even come close to having similar features...
