&lt;P&gt;Did you select "Essential" with "Add device" or the "Essential Spotlight"?&amp;nbsp; If you select Essential, the onboarding for the Essential Spotlight will fail.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If you can disable 5 ghz wifi in your router, try doing that before onboarding (re-enabling it afterwards).&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Also, make sure the app is allowed to use your local network (with iOS that's in the general phone settings - scroll down to the app there and select it)&lt;/P&gt;</description>
