topic Re: Why doesn't the sync button work as a restart button? in Arlo Essential Wire-Free Cameras

The problem is when the camera goes offline. The soft restart becomes useless as there is no communication with the camera. I've seen a few dozen devices going randomly offline and there is no other option but to re-add the camera. Why not just restart it like any other of the devices in your line? I fail to understand why it wouldn't be possible to have a different setup of the sync button that would actually help in real life conditions. It's bloody useless and makes the cameras incredibly hard to maintain. All they do is go offline and never come back.

Why doesn't this camera have the option to be restarted with the sync button? It would solve almost every problem that these cameras have.

While the sync button does not do this, you can restart the cameras using the Arlo mobile app under Settings > My Devices > select the desired camera > Restart Device
