Smart hub installation

If I get a smart hub (already have 2 wireless cameras), to install that it will connect directly to the back of my regular router correct (plug into)? And then when I am bringing up the cameras it will connect to the smart hub not the regular house wifi? Doing this will it still need to connect to a 2.5 ghz on my regular router? Our new xfinity router no longer separates out the 2.5 and 5 ghz bands so cant get arlo to connect anymore

Yes - it connects using ethernet (and is plugged into one of the router's LAN ports).

My Orbi mesh hasn't separated the two bands for years, and I have still been able to get my cameras to install. I've just ignored the screen in the app telling me to connect the phone to the 2.4 ghz band. If you haven't tried that, then perhaps start by trying that.

It might be worth trying to set the network name and password to match what you were using before.

Some other things to check:

make sure the phone is connected to the wifi
make sure any VPN running on the phone is disabled
make sure the router is set up to allow WPA2 (AES) connections.
