Loud background static noise

When I open the arlo baby there is a loud static noise so I have to mute the sound. Is this normal? I can't have always listen mode on because it's like white noise

In a quiet environment the microphone can be fairly sensitive. From the link you've provided, I would say the background noise that can be heard is normal behavior.
